Drop in to the museum to meet Paul Macdonald as part of this year's festival.

You will find him in the Governor's Room with a selection of the remarkable Jacobite hoard found at the ruined crofting community of Sandaig on Loch nan Uamh.

On the day they recovered 215 unused musket balls, gold and silver‑gilt buttons, coins, and other items — likely linked to the French arms landed nearby on 30 April 1746, just after Culloden.

Even more incredible: the hoard was found beside the former home of Alasdair MacMhaighstir Alasdair, Clanranald bard, officer in the ’45, and Gaelic tutor to Prince Charles Edward Stuart.

A powerful piece of Jacobite history you will be able to see for yourself and ask questions about.
