Each station has 4 rows, and each row holds 25 people — 100 pickers per station.Your ticket is scanned as you enter a station. Once 100 people are scanned in, that station closes and its number comes down — that's how you know it's full. Move to the next station with a number still up.The whistle only goes once every station is closed. That's a Guinness World Records™ requirement: the count has to be locked before anyone picks. Depending on how quickly the field fills, that can be a short wait or a long one — so sort your group out at the stage, get to a station promptly, and stay in your row once you're in it. Leaving your row breaks the count.Then: 5 minutes of picking. Minimum to count — pick 1 strawberry. You'll get a short briefing on the day covering exactly what to do, how to pick without damaging the plants, and what the adjudicator needs to see.What time should I arrive?Gates open at 8:00am and the official briefing is at 10:00am. Give yourself time to park, check in and get into the Event Area — arriving close to 10:00am means rushing.Can I start picking before the record attempt?No. Everyone waits with an empty punnet until the whistle — that's what makes the attempt valid, and it's the moment the whole thing is built around. Once the adjudicator calls time, the field stays open and you can keep picking for the rest of the day.Can I keep the strawberries I pick?Yes. Once the official attempt is complete and verified, what you've picked is yours to take home.Five adult tickets means 5kg of strawberries. Isn't that too many?No — and we get asked this a lot. Half of them will be gone before you get home. That's just what happens with fruit picked twenty minutes ago. Whatever's left freezes beautifully: hull them, spread them on a tray so they don't clump, then bag them once frozen. They'll keep for months and they're perfect for smoothies.Can children take part?Yes — the picking record is a family event and kids are welcome. Children must be ticketed and supervised by an adult at all times.Is the event accessible for wheelchairs and prams?Partly, and we'd rather be straight with you before you book. The picking rows themselves are not accessible for wheelchairs and prams. Everything else is on flat, open ground: the festival area, the food vendors, the main stage and the farm gate stall. If someone in your group uses a wheelchair, or you're bringing a pram, please message us before you book so we can talk through what will work on the day.What happens if it rains?The event runs rain or shine wherever it's safe to do so.
