This new documentary explores the life and legacy of Black writer, educator, and activist Toni Cade Bambara and her lasting influence on Black feminist thought.From her Harlem roots to her role as a self-described “culture worker,” Toni’s wit and fierce commitment to change come alive through rare footage and the voices of those who knew her best, including Toni Morrison and filmmaker Haile Gerima. Set to a cool jazz score, this stylish documentary honors an unsung icon whose legacy still resonates today. – Karen McMullenJoin us on Friday, April 3rd at Eastside Arts Alliance (2277 International Blvd, Oakland 94606).
