Seating will be on a first come, first served basis, with an expectation to rotate after a few hands if all tables are full.In the spirit of this month’s Qingming Festival (translated literally as "Bright and Clear" and also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day), attendees are invited to contribute to a community altar for honoring ancestors and loved ones who have passed.A seasonal menu from Chef Kit at M&D Food will showcase special dishes eaten during Qingming:Qingtuan - mugwort mochi dumplingsPopiah - fresh spring rolls [vegetarian or chicken]Mung bean mooncakesWe’ll also be hosting a concha x bolo bao (pineapple bun) tasting, sampling across Oakland Chinatown bakeries and Open Test Kitchen’s TSIRI Michoacán.*Moments Book Co-op will be joining us with a selection of books, and Nicole’s book Mahjong: House Rules from Across the Asian Diaspora will be available for sale and signing.This is a family-friendly event.
