We are hosting a "Momorial" for Catherine Di Miceli at the beautiful Lake Merritt Gardens because she loved gardens - being in them, cultivating them, tending them, watching them grow.
There will be time to share stories, share food, walk in the garden, and honor the ways that Catherine continues to live through all of those she inspired and loved.
Food will be provided. This is a no-alcohol event.
There will be an upright piano for those who wish to play. We encourage you to bring other instruments too if you want to play (guitar, ukelele - whatever acoustic musical thing you'd like to bring). There will also be a sound system that can play music from a phone, so if you have a song or audio piece you'd like to share, you can!
We will have several binders with binder-sleeves. If you are inspired to do so, please come with a page (or two or three) to insert into a binder sleeve. It could be a story, poetry, artwork - whatever you want that fits in a binder protector sleeve. If you wish to read or show your contribution as part of the "story telling," we encourage you to do so! Even if you don't want to share it but think others would appreciate it, we hope you choose to share it. :)
We also invite you to bring any photos or memoirs - there will be a lot of table-top space for us to put things on as well as cork-board walls for us to pin up pictures of her. If you chose to leave the photo or memoir there, we will add it to the binders or our personal, at-home honor space we have for her.
If you wish to donate any money towards the cost of the event and food, please do! Please only donate if it feels right and convenient for you. You can send money here: paypal.me/JuliannaDiMiceli
There is free parking nearby and $5 all-day parking right out front of the Garden Center. There are restrooms and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
Please have all attendees get a ticket so that we can have an accurate head count for seating and food.
