Join us, Saturday, Nov. 8th for a hands-on community design session to help reimagine the MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline—a vital East Oakland landscape where land, water, and community meet. Together, we’ll explore ideas for restoring wetlands, expanding public access, and building climate resilience.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline Improvement Project at Oakport aims to strengthen habitat for wildlife, improve flood protection and water quality, and enhance spaces like the Bay Trail for all to enjoy.
This is the first of two community workshops shaping a shared vision for a resilient and thriving shoreline.

About SupplyBank.org & the Oakport Project
SupplyBank.org is an Oakland-based nonprofit with a vision that all people have the essential supplies they need. Through a trusted network of over 700 public and nonprofit agencies, we’ve distributed more than $100 million worth of basic necessities—like diapers, school supplies, and hygiene items—to under-resourced children and families across California.
Now, as the nonprofit developer of the Oakport Project, we’re proud to bring that same spirit of community impact to our hometown. The Oakport Project aims to restore and enhance Oakland’s shoreline—improving habitat, creating new parkland, and providing spaces where residents can connect with nature. This community workshop will be facilitated by one of our community engagement partners, Hood Planning Group.
