ABOUT BLACK DAE DAY:Founded by Jasmine La Fleur in 2021, the Black Fae Day annual holiday is celebrated on the second Saturday of May each year. Inspired by the need for more representation in media and cosplay, Black Fae Day is for black folks who love fantasy and freedom of expression. It's a day we can dress like any supernatural creature we can imagine. For the 3rd year in a row at Lake Merritt, artist and community organizer Honey Gold Jasmine is excited to expand the #blackfaeday movement to the Bay.
