Join us on Sunday, February 8th at 1PM for this musical tribute and theatrical celebration honoring the life and legacy of Jon Rivera — a beloved performer, writer, and friend whose presence illuminated every stage he graced. This special one-night-only cabaret brings together members of the theatre community to celebrate Jon’s extraordinary talent and spirit, featuring songs from some of the many shows he performed in over the years. From soaring ballads to show-stopping ensemble numbers, each piece reflects the warmth, humor, and passion that Jon shared both onstage and off.
More than just a performance, this event is a benefit for the Rivera family, a way for our community to come together in love and gratitude for a man whose artistry and kindness touched us all.
In the second act, we present Jon’s original one-act play, The Confession — a powerful and haunting exploration of faith, guilt, and redemption. In a quiet church on an ordinary evening, a weary priest encounters a mysterious stranger seeking absolution. What begins as a simple confession unfolds into a chilling spiritual confrontation, blurring the line between sin and salvation. Through vivid dialogue and raw emotion, The Confession captures the depth of Jon’s insight as both a writer and a human being — probing the fragility of faith and the enduring power of compassion.
As we gather to remember, we also celebrate — through music, story, and community — the lasting light Jon Rivera brought into our lives and onto our stage.
