The fun will kick off at 10 a.m. with a costume parade around Scoville Park led by Village President Vicki Scaman. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., families are invited into the main branch of the Oak Park Public Library where they can explore two simultaneous events taking place specifically for families with little ones: Early Childhood Resource Fair: downstairs community lobby and Children’s Library - Families can meet representatives from dozens of local programs and organizations that support young children and families in a variety of ways such as child development, mental health and wellness, and enrichment. Early Learning Program Meet and Greet: Veterans Room on the second floor - Looking for an early learning program for your little one? Interested in learning about local options when it comes to care for your child? Head upstairs to the Veterans Room to talk in person with early learning professionals from twelve local programs representing center and home based options, and serving infants through preschool age children.  In addition to events at the library, the Hemingway District will be hosting Fall Family Fun, which will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.! During this time, participating businesses across the district will be handing out treats to kiddos and families as they stroll the neighborhood. Small crafts and fun events will also take place, and maps will be available for families to more easily navigate all the fall fun. These family events are a true collaboration between local partners, including the Park District of Oak Park where the costume parade will take place, early childhood programs, and the Hemingway District, bringing together community organizations dedicated to supporting families and young learners. The Early Childhood Resource Fair is made possible by our generous Community Orchard Sponsors: CAST Water Safety Foundation and Le Village Cowork, Old Route 66.Accessibility: The parade will take place on the sidewalk that circles Scoville Park. There are elevators in the library. We expect there to be a higher level of sound volume due to the number of people who will be at the library during our event. A sensory room is available in the children’s library and is open to those who may like to spend some time in it. Fall Family Fun will take place across the Hemingway District, and Oak Park Avenue will still be under construction.
