Yes, we have to be able to laugh at ourselves no matter what age we are, but when I lost my car keys in high school I didn’t call it a junior moment!
ACE (Action Community Engagement) is currently running a project, sponsored by Yale School of Public health and Midwestern University, on raising awareness about and reducing ageism in Oak Park.
On Monday, December 8, at Comedy Plex, from 6-8pm, ACE is amping up the holiday season with an evening of fun, food, laughter and libations as we explore ‘what is non-ageist humor, anyway?’
Jokes will be told, opinions expressed, and comedy sketches acted out by local ACE members. The audience will give feedback on what they consider to be ageist humor or not (do you feel like you’re in on the jokes or the butt of the jokes or both?) And, if you get the urge, stand up and tell one of your own jokes and let the audience decide.
Featuring comedians:
Michelle Krajecki and Bob Jay
Admission is one dollar, and scholarships are available for the 2-drink minimum.
*2 Drink Minimum Per Person
