We are partnering with the City of OH and Oak Harbor Main Street Association to offer a sensory friendly zone for the Veteran's Day Parade on November 11th at 2:00pm, Santa Parade on December 6th at 4:00pm and The St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 17th at 4:30pm. Our location will be in front of My Sister's Closet, at the end of Pioneer. 1036 SE Pioneer Way
Designated parking details to follow.
We also offer Sensory Friendly Zone with the Chamber of Commerce and the City of OH for the Whidbey Culture Fest Parade the last weekend in April and the 4th of July Parade. For these longer parades, our designated area is at Hal Ramaley Park (across from the Windjammer baseball fields). Look for the signs. 
These are the directions given to the parade participants to make this a designated sensory friendly area. 
A Sensory Friendly Zone will be located near the end of the parade route between Jensen St and Midway, just passed Whidbey Coffee.  Clearly marked signage labeled “Sensory Friendly” will be at both the start and end of the area. While passing through this zone, we request that the following protocols are followed:  
• Refrain from using any loud noise makers (no sirens, car horns, air horns, whistles etc...).  NOTE - Marching bands may continue to play music while passing the Sensory Friendly section.  
• Parade viewers in this area may be uncomfortable with strangers approaching them or physically interacting with them.  Instead, we encourage parade entries to interact with viewers in the section with smiles, waves, friendly gestures, etc..  
• Refrain from throwing candy or other handouts to viewers in this area, gentle tosses in the general area are great and viewers can retrieve when they are able/ready.
