The Great American Songbook... with a Twist!
What's the twist, you might ask?
The 'Twist' for this concert is our special guest, music historian Michael Lasser, who will narrate this program with very interesting commentary. Incidentally, it's the 100th anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance so expect some pieces and commentary honoring this milestone.
We'll perform a wide variety of music from famous songwriters of the time including Lorenz Hart & Richard Rodgers, Ira Gershwin, George Gershwin, Thomas, "Fats" Waller, Duke Ellington, and many others!
Songs included in our program are Ain't Misbehavin', Don't Get Around Much Anymore, Stormy Weather, Sweet Georgia Brown, Fascinating Rhythm, and Our Love is Here to Stay, to name a few.
Masks and current vaccinations are encouraged but no longer required.
We'll look forward to seeing you in the audience!
