Winter activities increase the need for blood donations, but busy schedules and cold weather often deter many donors. Regardless of the season, accident victims, surgery patients, and those with life-threatening medical conditions all depend on the generosity of caring donors. Your donation can ensure local blood supplies are available when needed most.
Appointments are strongly encouraged for this drive. Most appointment times are for whole blood donation unless marked as "*double-red."
Whole Blood Donation - Simply, the blood that flows through your veins. It contains red cells, white cells, and platelets, suspended in plasma. This type of donation is the standard type.
Double Red Cell Donation - Only your red blood cells are collected and not your platelets or plasma. This type of donation is done using a machine process called automation.
