This Ecstatic Dance is an invitation to start the year by coming home to your body and being held by community. Waves of reciprocity will ripple throughout the year as All funds raised will support sliding scale tuition at All Around Kids Community Preschool at Healthy U.


We’ll begin together with a gentle somatic warm-up and opening circle, easing into two hours of uninterrupted dance guided by Michael Maitreya’s storytelling through sound. We’ll end the night with a closing circle, grounding what we’ve shared.

This is an all-ages event. Kids are welcome and attend free.


Ecstatic Dance Guidelines at the Event:

1. We dance shoeless to connect more fully with the ground: socks are welcome, dance shoes allowed if necessary because of a physical condition.

2. We dance with body language: no verbal instruction from facilitators and no talking on the dance floor, please. Keep conversations quietly on the perimeter, or carry them outside.

3. We dance as we are: no drugs or alcohol, no phones, cameras or videos, no expectations or judgements.

4. We dance with others with consent: if you would like to dance with another on the dancefloor, please get consent through eye contact, body language and/or gestures. If it's not an obvious yes, it's a no.
