Katie Elevitch - a Rockland County based singer-songwriter, artist, curator, community arts organizer & founder/exec. director of StorySpace Arts - will explore through story & song how war has impacted her personally.
She will share stories about her Father, Morton D. Elevitch (1928-2006) - a WW2 Veteran & Literary Artist who resided in Rockland County for over 40 years - read from his book of published WW2 letters (Illinois University Press, 2003), and perform songs she wrote inspired by him, 9/11, and her journey of finding peace, healing and catharsis from her catalog of recorded songs (1999-2016).
The audience is encouraged to interact with questions and engage in conversation throughout the event. A short guided meditation will begin the program and we expect a full house - so please come early to insure a seat.
A reception will follow the event from 4:30-5pm. K Elevitch CD's and MD Elevitch books will be for sale, and WW2 artifacts & letters of Katie's father will be on view.
