It originated around a monastery founded beneath an oak tree by St Brigid, one of Ireland’s patron saints.You can walk with us and enjoy this historic town, starting from the ECCO store at Kildare Village. On Saturdays’ walk, we will pass Grey Abbey Road and continue along until we reach the leafy countryside area of Tully West, where we will pass St Brigid’s Well—an ancient, serene site associated with Ireland’s female patron saint.
