Design and print your very own cards or print through the medium of screen printing and using a simple stencil technique with impressive results!The CourseDesign and print your own small edition of 1 colour or 2 colour prints through the medium of screen printing.Who Is The Course Suitable For?Whether you're a seasoned designer wanting to experiment in another medium or a complete beginner looking to try something new, this event is perfect for all skill levels.What you'll be doingScreen printing is the process whereby ink is pushed through a fine silk mesh stretched over a screen. A squeegee is used to push the ink through the 'open' areas of the screen depositing an even layer of ink on to the fabric or paper below. Many colours/layers can be printed and multiple copies can be printed.In this workshop Alison will use her 20 plus years of experience to guide you through creating your own design or pattern, cutting the design out of stencil paper, choosing and mixing your colour/s and then printing your design using a squeegee and screen on to paper and card.A great workshop for groups of friends to catch up and get creative.Approx 4 hrs.The workshop will involve:Introduction to screen printing, how it works and how to take inspiration from idea to printDesigning and drawing an imageCutting the design out of Yupo paperPreparing the screen to printChoosing or mixing your colour from a choice of inks Demonstration of printing techniqueAdvice and guidance on the registration of multiple layers/coloursScreen printing a small edition of your final designWhat to wear and what to bringAll materials included and no experience needed.There will be unlimited tea and coffee and a snack provided .
