With your help we can save lives in the Shoalhaven. In Australia, a stroke occurs every 11 minutes, and we know that stroke impacts our local area with over 1,617* people living with stroke... But the good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way. Up to 80% of strokes are preventable.
Join us at Nowra Library to hear from the Stroke Foundation as they tell us how to recognise the signs of stroke, discover why F.A.S.T. saves lives and how to prevent strokes.
Our StrokeSafe Speaker has either experienced a stroke themselves or are close to someone who has. They will draw on their own personal experiences with stroke - so every talk is unique and memorable. Our speaker will cover:
There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
“The talk was incredible, total captivating. To have her story shared first hand was both an inspiration and an eye-opener. It really got us all thinking and talking about the way we look after ourselves. And we've changed! We stopped buying super salty office snacks, substituting them with organic, healthier alternatives. Our exercise regimes have been seriously reinvigorated too. Thank you so much for organising this for us, it’s had a huge and very important impact on each and every one of us.”
"The presenter kept our group interested the whole time, and that’s not always easy. Great presentation.”
"This has been one of our best information nights this club has had for many years.”
