- **Event Description**: Join us for a fun morning of birding at a tidal wetland!About this EventBird and nature enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us on February 21st for an exciting morning of birding at the Novato Baylands (Hamilton Wetlands)! Anyone is welcome to join, including families with young children, small groups, those with no birding experience, and seasoned birders.We will meet at 9 AM at the main parking lot at South Hamilton Park, Novato, CA (look for a parking area with a large solar panel roof, next to a large grass field). We’ll then walk at a relaxed pace along the Bay Trail until 11 AM looking and listening for as many species of birds as we can find, along with other wildlife and special wetland plants. Some of the birds we might see include spectacular flocks of sandpipers, herons and egrets, migratory ducks, American Avocets, and Black-necked Stilts.Spotting scopes, bird books, and brochures will be provided. We recommend bringing your own water bottle, binoculars, sun protection, layers, and comfortable walking shoes.Come bird with us and learn about the special salt marsh ecosystem – we hope to see you there!Please email novatobaylands@pointblue.org if you have trouble signing up or other questions.
