You will enjoy three days dedicated not only to Lindy Hop, but also to the food, the culture, the music and the styling of an old but incredibly fashionable era. Allow yourself to become enchanted with this awesome music and dance, let the rhythm of the Swing carry you away… let your feet be free!

ON STAGE – NP BIG BAND
The NP Big Band was founded in 2008 from an idea by Roberto Resaz, double bassist and leader of “The Nine Pennies.” The goal was to recreate the electrifying atmosphere of the great ballrooms of the Swing Era, with a Big Band that plays in the authentic style of the time...making dance nights even hotter!
Building on the foundation of “The Nine Pennies” orchestra - already active for about ten years with a swing repertoire inspired by the “white” bands of the 1920s and ’30s - they added three trumpets, three trombones, another saxophone, and of course a clarinet. Choosing the repertoire? Easy: mostly Benny Goodman, but also Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller and all that swing.

The NPBB has performed at the most important Jazz and Swing music festivals in Italy and abroad (Herräng Dance Camp – Sweden, Rock That Swing Festival – Germany, Balboa on the Promenade – France, Ljubljana Swing Festival – Slovenia…)

Pianist Gordon Webster is one of the most sought after musicians in the lindy hop world. His tremendous musicianship and passion, supported by his first-hand knowledge of social dancing, have inspired lindy hoppers at hundreds of dance events worldwide. Drawing on influences as diverse as Fats Waller, Count Basie, Oscar Peterson and Gene Harris, Webster serves up a smorgasbord of styles unified by one characteristic: irresistible danceability.

ON STAGE - NP BIG BAND
La NP Big Band nasce nel 2008 da un’idea di Roberto Resaz, contrabbassista e leader dei “The Nine Pennies”. L’obiettivo è quello di ricreare l’atmosfera elettrizzante delle grandi ballroom della Swing Era con una big band che suoni come si faceva allora, e renda le serata di ballo più “hot”.
Sul nucleo dell’orchestra “The Nine Pennies”, all’epoca già da una decina di anni sulla scena con il suo repertorio swing delle orchestre “bianche” degli anni 20 e 30, hanno innestato altre tre trombe e tre tromboni, un altro sax e – non poteva mancare, ovviamente – un clarinetto. La scelta del repertorio? Niente di più facile: Benny Goodman soprattutto, ma anche Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller e via swingando.
La NPBB ha partecipato ai più importanti festival di musica jazz e swing in Italia e all’estero
