Na delavnici se bomo naučili koreografijo Kajra Re iz filma Bunty Aur Babli – polno značaja, radoživosti in tipične bollywoodske energije! Ples združuje elemente klasičnih in folklornih indijskih plesov s sodobnimi vplivi, izražanjem in zgodbo v gibanju.
🌸 Delavnico bo vodila Alenka Lapanja, dolgoletna plesalka in mentorica orientalskih in indijskih plesov, članica PD Salam Ghazeea, s katerimi že več kot 20 let ustvarja plesne zgodbe.

Ples Bollywood je izraz za plesni slog, ki izvira iz indijske filmske industrije – zlasti iz mesta Mumbaja (včasih je bil to Bombay), kjer domuje "Bollywood", največja filmska industrija na svetu po številu filmov.
Značilnosti Bollywood plesa so:
- Mešanica različnih slogov: združuje klasične indijske plese (npr. Bharatanatyam, Kathak), indijski folklorni ples (kot Bhangra), sodobne zahodne plesne stile (hip hop, jazz, latino) in celo balet.
- Izraznost in dramatika: močan poudarek je na mimiki obraza, gestah z rokami (mudre), čustvenem izražanju in zgodbi, ki jo ples pogosto pripoveduje.
- Barvitost in energija: značilni so živahni kostumi, energični gibi in radoživost. Pogosto je zelo spektakularen.
- Glasba: ples je tesno povezan z indijsko filmsko glasbo – pogosto se pleše na pesmi iz popularnih Bollywood filmov.
Ples Bollywood se uporablja:
- v filmih (kjer igralci pogosto pojejo in plešejo kot del zgodbe,
- na prireditvah, porokah, festivalih,
- kot rekreacija ali plesna vadba po vsem svetu.
Ples Bollywood je priljubljen, ker: :)
- je zabaven in raznolik,
- ne zahteva predhodnega znanja določenega plesnega sloga,
- spodbuja telesno aktivnost in izražanje čustev.

Opis Alenka Lapanja
Delavnico bo vodila Alenka Lapanja, članica društva Salam Ghazeea. Orientalske plese pleše že 20 let, od leta 2020 pa jih tudi poučuje v Idriji. V letih delovanja in nastopanja s Plesno skupino Salam Ghazeea se je naučila tudi indijskega Bollywooda in perzijskega plesa. Skupaj so ustvarile več plesnih predstav ter nastopile na raznih glasbeno-plesnih festivalih, prireditvah, dogodkih itd. v Sloveniji in tujini.
Opis PD Salam Ghazeea:
Plesno društvo za indijske in orientalske plese Salam Ghazeea deluje pod vodstvom Vesne Jevšenak od leta 2005 v Ljubljani in od leta 2020 tudi v Idriji. Letos praznujejo 20. obletnico delovanja. V okviru društva potekajo tečaji orientalskih plesov (klasični, folklore in flamenko oriental) in indijskih plesov (Bharat Natyam in Bollywood).

At the workshop, we will learn the choreography *Kajra Re* from the film *Bunty Aur Babli* – full of character, playfulness, and typical Bollywood energy!
This dance combines elements of classical and folk Indian dances with modern influences, expression, and storytelling through movement.
🌸 The workshop will be led by **Alenka Lapanja**, an experienced dancer and mentor of oriental and Indian dances, a member of *PD Salam Ghazeea*, with whom she has been creating dance stories for more than 20 years.
📩 **All about Bollywood Dance**:
Bollywood dance is a dance style that originates from the Indian film industry – especially from Mumbai (formerly Bombay), the home of "Bollywood," the largest film industry in the world by the number of films produced.
**Characteristics of Bollywood dance:**
- Fusion of styles**: combines classical Indian dances (e.g., Bharatanatyam, Kathak), Indian folk dance (such as Bhangra), modern Western dance styles (hip hop, jazz, Latin), and even ballet.
- Expressiveness and drama**: strong emphasis on facial expressions, hand gestures (mudras), emotional expression, and storytelling through dance.
- Colorfulness and energy**: lively costumes, dynamic movements, and playfulness. Often highly spectacular.
- Music**: closely connected with Indian film music – usually danced to songs from popular Bollywood movies.
**Bollywood dance is used:**
* in films (where actors often sing and dance as part of the story),
* at events, weddings, and festivals,
* as recreation or dance fitness all over the world.
**Why Bollywood dance is popular:**
- it is fun and diverse,
- it does not require prior knowledge of a specific dance style,
- it encourages physical activity and emotional expression.
**Workshop theme:**
We will learn the choreography *Kajra Re* (pronounced *kajra-re*, meaning “kohl-lined eyes”) from the film *Bunty Aur Babli*.

**About Alenka Lapanja:**
The workshop will be led by **Alenka Lapanja**, a member of the dance association *Salam Ghazeea*. She has been dancing oriental dance for 20 years and has been teaching it in Idrija since 2020. During her years of performing with the *Salam Ghazeea Dance Group*, she also learned Bollywood and Persian dance. Together, they have created several dance productions and performed at various music and dance festivals, events, and shows in Slovenia and abroad.
**About PD Salam Ghazeea:**
The Dance Association for Indian and Oriental Dances *Salam Ghazeea* has been active under the leadership of **Vesna Jevšenak** since 2005 in Ljubljana, and since 2020 also in Idrija. This year, they are celebrating their 20th anniversary. The association offers courses in oriental dances (classical, folklore, and flamenco oriental) as well as Indian dances (Bharatanatyam and Bollywood).
