Contact Improvisation Jam (March)

A regular, monthly contact improvisation jam space in Nottingham. Each two hour session will begin with an opening circle and warm up into the jam.

Previous contact improvisation experience recommended but not necessary. Do get in touch if you have any questions or doubts.

Contact Improvisation (CI) is a relational, touch-based movement practice that relies upon the physical exploration of two or more people as the starting point for movement possibilities. It involves playing with risk, vulnerability and trust through sharing weight, rolling, sliding, flying, supporting, and embodied consent. It supports communication through touch, a readiness for being-with, and a swiftness in re-orientation in gravity, allowing for gentle sensorial, and at times acrobatic and exhilarating dancing.

Dates:
I've organised three months worth of jams to begin with but I am hoping to make this a regular ongoing event and grow a thriving CI community.

Cost: £10 for each session. Concession rate available for retired, unemployed, low waged, students etc. If you have ample means and would like to pay it forward, please consider paying the Supporter rate or get in touch if you would like to offer more financial support for CI in Nottingham.

Venue: Limited parking is available outside FABRIC - Space 2 with public transport links via NCTX buses. Press the intercom buzzer by the door for entry.

FABRIC is a collection of dance studios. There are toilet and water fascilities and a small lounge to hangout and eat food in.
