- **Event Description**: \\\ 7 is a magic number ///

Nottinghams favourite 'psychedelic occult organisation' / 7 piece prog-pop supergroup are returning to Masonic Place with the incredible Vodun in support. Described by Leftlion as 'immersive, intoxicating, and refreshing as hell', their packed-out Rescue Rooms album launch show fell on the full harvest moon of 2016. The Cosmic Conjuction: Exactly 7 months to the day since the debut live spectacular, the upcoming debacle falls on the seventh day of the week, Easter Sunday (April 16th).

((( 1 + 6 = 7 )))

With a bank holiday the next day, the homecoming show is the ultimate date of a short UK tour this April. The Church set out to headline sizeable venues over the four nights of Easter, in a doubledecker rainbow bus.

((( 7 colours in the rainbow spectrum of light )))

The astronomical alignment of the 'The Sacred Triduum’ heralds the perfect time for the Church to spread their cosmic love across the land. The 'Three Days' of Easter actually spans four nights which mark each of the Cosmic Sermons.

((( 3 + 4 = 7 )))

Other locations include an actual converted church: Trinity Centre, Bristol (Holy Thursday 13th Apr), Boston Music Room, London (Good Friday 14th), Ruby Lounge, Manchester (Black Saturday 15th) and the return to Rescue Rooms, Nottingham (Easter Sunday 16th).

((( 7 wandering planets )))

Color of vestments and hangings: white, often together with gold, with yellow and white flowers often in use in many parishes.

((( Behold the Septagram! )))

Church of the Cosmic Skull is a twofold entity: a new religious movement who seek to free mankind from their material possessions and unify all living beings into a singular cosmic whole; and a 7-piece supergroup based in Nottingham UK playing Prog/Psych/'70s Rock/Pop. For fans of Black Mountain, Ghost, King Gizzard, Uncle Acid. The combination of guitar, hammond organ, electric cello, bass and drums is a tip of the hat to the Mahavishnu Orchestra sound, but with six-part Queen-esque vocal harmonies and Thin Lizzy pop-rock structures.

Brought together by songwriter Bill Fisher, the group features some of the best musicians in the universe:

Michael Wetherburn - Hammond Organ & Vox (Hellset Orchestra, Ulysses Storm)
Loz Stone - Drums (Iron Swan, Rescued by Wolves)
Sam Lloyd - Bass & Vox (You Slut!, Pilgrim Fathers)
Jo Joyce - Vox (Solo Artist)
Amy Nicholson - Electric Cello & Vox (Hellset Orchestra, Polymath)
Caroline Cawley - Vox (Dystopian Future Movies)
Bill Fisher - Guitar & Vox (Mammothwing, Distillery Blues Band)

“One of the finest rock records of 2016”
Louder Than War

WITH VODUN

Vodun - Afro-Metal-Soul-Psych from the capital.

https://vodun.bandcamp.com/

Amidst the rushing screams of Mother Earth; the pounding drums of Ouidah; the markets of Lomé and the open heart of Erzulie, there exists:

Born of only 3 comes the embodiment of crushing noise intertwined with enrapturing harmonies...

Collectively, they are VŌDŪN, heavy, weird, soulful - yes, they are expectant of the abnormal and so should you be.

“There is another psychedelic dimension which makes it an exhilarating listening experience, almost like they have been hanging out with Swedish psychedelic rockers Goat. The exceptional level of song writing is still there, very catchy pop tunes with not one bad egg. ” – Echoes And Dust
