Care Leavers Training Evening
When a young person leaves the care system they can often find themselves isolated and alone. As you are probably aware, moving out of home and becoming independent can be difficult for anyone. Young people leaving the care of the Local Authority can find this process even more challenging than most; when you don’t have close friends and family around, small problems can get worse rapidly. Safe Families believes that each of these young people has a huge amount of potential and with the support of positive people around them, they can become independent and confident adults, connected into supportive communities.
Safe Families are now training volunteers in Nottingham to be able to support young care leavers. It can be as simple as offering a listening ear or practical help which will enable the building of relationships that bring hope and connection.
If you are interested in supporting care leavers we have a training event on the 28.08.19 at Trent Vineyard. If you would like to come along, either to get trained up or to find out more information, then please follow the link and book on to the evening.
We look forward to seeing you there.
