Andrew Motyka has been the Director of Archdiocesan and Cathedral Liturgical Music for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis since 2012.  He previously served as music director in parishes in Maryland, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.

Andrew is responsible for all music for the parish at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul in Indianapolis, as well as coordinating music for Archdiocesan events, directing multiple choirs.  He also assists with the formation of musicians in the Archdiocese, and serves as a resource for other music directors and pastors. This experience has led Andrew to coordinate and direct music for many events, including the USCCB summer meetings of 2017 and the National Eucharistic Congress in the summer of 2024. He has been a frequent speaker for parish and diocesan groups, including candidates for the permanent diaconate.

Andrew was awarded an MM in Sacred Music from The Catholic University of America in 2005, where he studied under Leo Nestor. One of his passions is bringing awareness and knowledge of the Proper of the Mass to music directors across parishes. To this end, he founded communionantiphons.org as a resource for newly composed Communion antiphons for liturgical use. 

Andrew lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Julie, and their three children.
