Do you love true crime and want to experience detective work firsthand? This week-long residential program is designed for high school girls interested in the fields of forensic science, criminal justice, or science in general. Campers will work together to solve a staged murder by analyzing physical evidence, interviewing suspects, and using deductive reasoning to identify the guilty suspect using all available information.
Throughout the week, campers will work closely with Saint Mary’s students and professors as they explore the world of STEM and how it is used to analyze evidence. Lessons and guest speakers will allow campers to experience a variety of topics and show them that there is more than one way to be a great detective. Campers will attend a tour at the local police station and crime lab, and interact with professionals in the field. Campers will also experience what campus life is like at Saint Mary’s College as they sleep in dorms, eat in the dining hall, and attend sessions in campus classrooms.

Throughout the week, campers will:
- Work as a team to solve a murder using science, math, technology, and deductive reasoning skills
- Collect and analyze evidence using specialized equipment and techniques in the Saint Mary’s lab
- Attend lectures to develop further skills needed for a career in a STEM field.
- Take a tour of the local police station and experience a real crime lab

Upon completion of the program, participants will receive one hour of elective college credit from Saint Mary's College.
