While Part 1 explored the wider impact of substance use, this follow-up session focuses on recognising and responding to opioid overdoses.Taking place on 9th September, 10:00–12:00, this session is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond effectively in a potentially life-saving situation.During the training, you will learn:What opioids are and how they affect the bodyWhy overdoses happen and who is most at riskHow to recognise the signs of an overdose and respond effectivelyWhat Naloxone is and how it worksHow to administer Naloxone safely, including a demonstration and hands-on practiceHow the illicit drug landscape has changed, including the increasing risks associated with NitazenesAt the end of the session, anyone who wishes to carry Naloxone will be offered a kit (or two) to take away.Who Should AttendThis training is suitable for anyone working with or supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults, including:Youth workers and support staffTeachers, school staff, and pastoral teamsSocial workers and safeguarding professionalsHealthcare and outreach workersVolunteers and community organisationsParents, carers, and anyone wanting to increase their knowledge and confidenceNo prior medical knowledge is required.About the TrainerThis training is delivered by Change Grow Live, a national health and social care charity specialising in drug and alcohol support services.
