Eddisbury was not simply abandoned after the Iron Age. Archaeological excavations have revealed evidence of reoccupation in the post-Roman period, including huts built over the collapsed ramparts, suggesting that people were still living and working on the hill centuries after the Romans arrived. Some historians also believe it may have been refortified during the Anglo-Saxon period.
