About Shipmans

Shipmans is the latest venue to welcome Flamingo Jazz Nights, and it's also one of Northampton’s oldest pubs. A public house has stood on this site since the early-to-mid 1700s! Over the centuries, the pub has gone through various transformations, including name changes, and today it’s well known locally for its signature cocktails.

With its cosy atmosphere, Shipmans offers an ideal setting for intimate solo and duo jazz performances. The jazz nights are held in The Drapery Room, which is perched above one of Northampton’s busiest streets, yet still offers a peaceful and intimate spot to enjoy an evening of live jazz music.

About Tom Remon and Agostino Di Giorgio

Tom Remon – A jazz guitarist and alumnus of Tomorrow’s Warriors, Tom has released three albums as a bandleader and performed extensively across the UK, Ireland, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. He has collaborated with leading UK, Irish, and US jazz artists, including MOBO Award nominee David Lyttle; guitarists Hugh Buckley, Jim Mullen, and John Stowell; violinist Benet McLean; saxophonists Soweto Kinch and Steve Williamson; and trumpeter Neil Yates, among many others.

Agostino Di Gorgio – An internationally acclaimed American jazz guitarist, Agostino has been a major influence and direct mentor to the celebrated guitarist Pasquale Grasso. A devoted student of Barry Harris and Chuck Wayne, he has toured the world both as a bandleader and as a sideman. In addition to his performing career, Agostino is also an accomplished, world-class luthier.
