About Shipmans
Shipmans is the latest venue to welcome Flamingo Jazz Nights, and it's also one of Northampton’s oldest pubs. A public house has stood on this site since the early-to-mid 1700s! Over the centuries, the pub has gone through various transformations, including name changes, and today it’s well known locally for its signature cocktails.
With its cosy atmosphere, Shipmans offers an ideal setting for intimate solo and duo jazz performances. The jazz nights are held in either the Drapery Room or the Drum Room, which sit above the main pub, and provide a peaceful and intimate setting to enjoy an evening of live jazz music.

About Sheila Waterfield and Geoff Tooley
Sheila Waterfield - Vocals
Sheila is a UK based vocalist, composer, and band leader with a style that draws upon jazz, blues, soul, folk, and Latin influences. Working in all musical settings, from a piano duo up to a 17 piece big band, Sheila can be seen performing at jazz venues, events, and festivals throughout the country. She regularly guests with many of the UK’s top big bands whilst performing and leading her own band. She has appeared at London’s Jazz Cafe, The Millennium Dome, CBS Arena, Ronnie Scott’s, and has been a regular favourite at the Birmingham Jazz and Blues Festival. Sheila is an established name on the UK jazz scene and enjoys collaborations and performances with many of the UK’s respected musicians. 2025 is proving to be a very creative and productive year... Sheila is collaborating on several new projects and is looking forward to releasing new music soon!
Geoff Tooley - Acoustic Guitar
Geoff, born in Northampton, is a versatile musician known for his skills as a classic and jazz guitarist. He has been playing the double bass for over 10 years, which has allowed him to explore a range of musical styles. Geoff has performed in both musical theatre and jazz, and leads his own jazz trio, playing at various notable venues across Europe including the Berlin Jazz Festival and the Birmingham Jazz Festival. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned artists such as Jim Mullen, Steve Waterman, and even George Harrison.
