- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 25 Jul, 2026 at 10:00 am – Sat, 25 Jul, 2026 at 02:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Gail Modugno began sewing in 4-H and has over forty years of quilting experience, creating everything from table runners to bed quilts. Inspired by family quilts, she continues to expand her expertise at national retreats. Gail also designed and published ‘The Brimfield Tote’ pattern and runs Steerage Rock Stitching, making reusable flannel paper towels for local craft fairs.

This beginner workshop introduces the basics of quilting in a welcoming setting. Dive into the world of quilting with our hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop! You’ll receive a pre-cut kit and step-by-step guidance to craft a beautiful Log Cabin or Courthouse Steps Block, all while picking up essential skills like precise seam sewing, pressing, basting, and binding. Clear instructions guide participants through making a small quilt sample (10–12 inches square). All materials are provided, including a pre-cut kit for a Log Cabin or Courthouse Steps Block. You'll learn to sew a ¼-inch seam, press and assemble blocks, layer, baste, quilt, and bind, along with using a rotary cutter and ruler.

Basic knowledge of using a sewing machine is required — Come with your own sewing machine or request one to use (on the registration form). Bring basic sewing supplies. The instructor will have many of the supplies available for you.

Bring your creativity and enthusiasm, and leave with new friends, fresh inspiration, and your very own mini quilt masterpiece! By the end, you'll have the skills to make a quality quilt, perfect for yourself or as a gift. This experience offers a chance to relax, connect, and leave with your own handmade creation.
