- **Event Description**: Come along for an exciting and much needed discovery and celebration of queer joy and pleasure.About this EventCome along for an exciting and much needed discovery and celebration of queer joy and pleasure as Sarah Li announces their new exhibition ‘Queer Pleasure Archive’.We invite you to join us at the preview hosted at Helix Arts.Enjoy not only the exhibition, you will be treated to performance from the DGA collective on the night.Saturday 14th June 6pm-10pmHelix Arts, North Tyneside Business Centre, 54a Saville St, North Shields NE30 1NTAbout ‘Queer Pleasure Archive’The Queer Pleasure Archive is a new socially engaged art project and new DIY archive by Newcastle based artist Sarah Li.The project was born out of a lack of positive and joyful representation of queer people in archives and collections.The exhibition consists of:· new archive pieces created by members from the DGA collective (Drag King, Genderchaos and Alternative Drag) documenting pleasurable activities· Portraits by artist Emma Bentley-Fox of some of the co-authors involved in the project· Artwork responses to the archival pieces and activities by Sarah Li.With thanks…This project has been generously funded by Helix Arts and the Newcastle Arts Team who are also partners on the project. It has also been kindly funded by Arts Council England.
