So, what is Hope Pond and why are we stewarding it?

Hope Pond lies in the Scituate Reservoir Watershed, connecting to the reservoir by the Pawtuxet River. It has a picnic area, fishing spots, and is a local kayaking hotspot. Boaters and fishers also use Hope Pond as a starting point to go down the Pawtuxet River, which starts from the reservoir just north of the Hope Pond recreation area.

In short, Hope Pond is connected to a lot of water in our state. Like, a lot. Specifically, the Scituate Reservoir provides drinking water to roughly 60% of Rhode Islanders, and is the largest inland body of water in our state.

To help protect your water supply, and learn about this beautiful oasis just 20 minutes outside of Providence, join us for our workshops! You'll be given take home materials and talk to the experts themselves. We're having three, so if you can't make one, join us for another! See you then!
