Children in GRADES 3-8 will participate in hands-on birding activities! Children will be given binoculars and a laminated field guide to keep.

- Learn about bird adaptations
- Learn how birds fly, explore wingspans 
- Investigate owl pellets
- Learn to identify backyard birds through sight and sound 
- Collect nesting materials for birds to gather. 

WE WILL MEET ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE LIBRARY AND WALK TO 27 BOW ST. 

Mary Hatton is our guest presenter for this event. Mary Hatton is a science educator with 25 years of experience working with all ages of aspiring scientists. Her specific specialty is neuroscience, but she explores all disciplines with her young learners. Mary also has 9 years of experience as a River Watch volunteer.

This program is funded by a grant from the North Reading Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
