The Southern Providence County Regional Prevention Coalition, coordinated by Tri-County Community Action Agency is offering a free presentation to help seniors manage issues relating to aging on Thursday, November 6th at 10 a.m. at St James Episcopal Church Church, 474 Fruit Hill Ave, North Providence, RI
The initiative, funded by the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals, focuses on medication management, risk factors for overdose in the elderly, the dangers of mixing prescription drugs, etc. The talk also explores how to identify an overdose and provides information about the overdose reversal medication Naloxone.
Attendees will receive a gift bag with information about medications, caregiving, mental health, and resources for seniors. It also contains a grabber reach tool, hot/cold ice pack; a pill organizer; Deterra safe drug disposal kit; grippy socks, a pocket magnifier, a refrigerator magnet identifying non-opioid options for pain; File of Life pouch, a journal for managing medications and notes; a fun drug word search and a lock bag to keep your prescription drugs safe. Refreshments will be served.
