- **Event Description**: You will be learning two (2) different kinds of dances: East Coast Swing and Bachata. The Swing is a spot dance that does not move along the line of dance. Free rhythmic interpretation is characteristic, using single, double or triple rhythms. A relaxed shuffling movement and use of upper body sway is also used to highlight the Swing.

Bachata is a very sensual dance, often centered around subjects of heartbreak, romance, and loss or to express the romantic feelings one has for a specific other. The basics to the dance are three-step with a Cuban hip motion, followed by a tap including a hip movement on the 4th beat. Today, Bachata is a popular nightclub style dance which is widely danced all over the world, but not identically.

Meet inside Oceana Coffee-Lake Park at 10:00 a.m. to grab your favorite Oceana Coffee beverage before heading upstairs to Culinary Studio with Mae.

Wear something comfortable for clothing. And if possible, no rubber-soled shoes (smooth sole for easy turns).
