The first session provides participants with the core concepts of Nextflow pipeline development and foundational knowledge needed to begin building and customising workflows. In the second session we will step through the hands-on practice in creating a scalable multi-sample Nextflow workflow, consisting of multiple bioinformatics tools.Learning Objectives:By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:·      Understand key concepts, terminology, and syntax of Nextflow·      Run, navigate, customize, and troubleshoot Nextflow pipelines for research applications·      Develop a basic Nextflow workflow using multiple scripting languages·      Read different types of data into a Nextflow workflow and output Nextflow process results to a predefined directory·      Troubleshoot some common errors in Nextflow workflow developmentPrerequisites:This is an intermediate workshop for people developing reproducible bioinformatics workflows. It assumes some experience with the following:·       Experience working on the command line/Linux environment.·       Experience with basic scripting (e.g. Bash).·       and basic knowledge of container technology such as docker, singularity or apptainer.This is an in person hands-on workshop and attendees must bring their own computers (laptop chargers also recommended). No software needs to be installed for this workshop.
