DOWN 2 CLOWN:
Following on from Down 2 Clown workshops earlier this year, this session builds on the skills of previous attendees, but is accessible to newcomers also. We will explore contemporary/theatre clowning rather than more traditional forms of circus clowning - no colourful wigs and kids party antics, and we won't be learning how to mime, juggle, do 'tricks' or pratfall.
We will, however, explore the pleasure to play, let go, be present, find 'the game', and both 'see' and be 'seen' by others onstage, by embracing your inner ridiculous, allowing you to celebrate your 'failures', and free yourself up from all the adult concerns of responsibility and 'coolness'. Cause who needs more of that?!
Through duo and group exercises, driven by movement and working through the body, embrace the joy in letting go of preconceived ideas of what 'funny' is, to embrace and celebrate your most silly self.
INTRO TO BOUFFON:
Shapeshifters who dwell on the fringes of society, experience at intro into the grotesque world of bouffon - dark, satirical creatures who excel in the art of mockery. Through movement improvisations, and embedded with social commentary, this introductory session will be physical, fun and a little bit wrong-town! More info to come, upon booking, or inquire further.
