Woven Watercolors: A Creative Friday Workshop

In this playful, beginner-friendly class, students will explore a fresh and imaginative way to combine painting and weaving. We’ll begin by creating a simple watercolor painting, while reviewing basic watercolor techniques. Once the painting is complete, it will be cut into strips and transformed through weaving—interlacing colorful paper back into the artwork to create a bold, textured, and surprising new design.

Students will learn basic weaving techniques and explore color and pattern choices that bring energy and movement to their finished piece. The process turns a single watercolor painting into something entirely new, encouraging creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving along the way.

This class is open to all ages and requires no prior experience. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys hands-on making and discovering unexpected possibilities in familiar materials.
