We will hear from three featured readers, with open mic performers interspersed between their readings. Each open mic reader will have time for performing one poem.Sign ups for the open mic will be available starting at 6:45 p.m., with limited availability.Itinerant Literate will have a selection of LGBTQ poetry from national and local poets available and will donate 15% of all sales for the week of Park Circle Pride to AFFA and We Are Family.Feature ReadersA$iahMaeAsiahMae, stylized A$iahMae, (they/she) is a spirit of curiosity first and immediately after a Black, Southern, Non-binary writer, cultural worker and steward of the land. A trans-disciplinary artist, their background spans across film, curation, production, performance and language arts. Their work is a series of evolving attempts to love, document, pay homage to and preserve The Black South and themself, in tandem. A$iahmae is a Watering Hole Fellow and has had their work featured in The Gibbes Museum of Art, Spoleto Festival USA, The Festival of Words: LA and in This is The Honey: An Anthology of Contemporary Black Poets, curated by Kwame Alexander, among others. They are currently serving as the Second Poet Laureate of Charleston, SCCory StegelinCorazon Stegelin is a queer and nonbinary poet, editor, and community activist local to Charleston. They have been recognized as the first place winner in the 2024 Voices for Mental Health writing contest and as the 2025 recipient of the Community Pride Award from Charleston Pride, and they are proud and honored to currently serve as a founding fae and managing editor of The Writing Fae literary magazine.
