# Event Details - **Event Name**: Spring Seaweed Forage - **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 17 May, 2026 at 09:00 am – Sun, 17 May, 2026 at 12:30 pm (+01:00) - **Event Description**: Making use of the low tide, we’ll explore the seaweeeds and tidal pools of beautiful Seacliff beach, overlooked by Tantallon castleAbout this EventMaking use of the low tide, we’ll explore the rock pools of beautiful Seacliff beach, overlooked by Tantallon castle, to forage for an array of my favourite seaweeds. This is the perfect time of year for sea vegetable foraging, the growths are lush and new and the spring neap tides provide opportunity to forage species that are further down the tide line and are normally submerged. We’ll discuss foraging safety, laws, and ethics, as well as nutritional importance and preparation suggestions. We’ll also look at some of the edibles growing along the shore, and finish the course with a picnic of wild edible sea and shore springtime foods.
