2019 STEAM BREAK REVOLUTION-FREE STEAM CAMP
WHAT: The North Little Rock Housing Authority presents STEAM BREAK REVOLUTION. This inaugural free two-day camp will explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art, and math with engaging activities and a goal of deepening or spurring interest in the fields of STEAM. Activities include:
Audio Visual Production: Attendees will take part in the basics of video production.
Basics of video game design presented by aSTEAM Village from Kansas City, MO.
Day in the Life of a Health Professional: Students will visit the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where they are slated to explore various labs and centers including Gross Anatomy, Clinical Skills, Simulation, and Respiratory.
Students will experience several Art & Make activities of the Innovation Hub, including laser cutting, engineering, ceramics, and screen printing. Students will leave with items that may include a laser cut piece, unfired ceramic creations, and a screen printed t-shirt or bag.
Parents and STEAM: Parents will take part in learning sessions about the role of STEAM and the academic workforce impacts of children taking part in STEAM activities, both in and out of the classroom.
Breakfast, lunch, and transportation will be provided.

WHO: STEAM BREAK REVOLUTION is limited to 11-17 year-olds who reside in NLR public housing communities or households that receive NLR Section 8 vouchers. Due to overwhelming response, a limited number of seats have been reserved for North Little Rock youth who meet the age requirement.

Note, when completing the registration form, the "attendee" is the child. If more than one sibling is attending, you will need to complete one form per child who meets the age qualifications.
