- **Event Description**: Join us in person to review current Illinois Learning Standards for English Language Arts.About this EventThis session will bring together grade-band teams (K–2, 3–5, 6–8, 9–12) to review the current Illinois Learning Standards for English Language Arts (ELA) and identify areas for clarification, refinement, and improved coherence. This effort is focused on targeted updates and is not a full rewrite of the standards.Participants will work in strand-specific groups (Foundational Reading, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language) to analyze standards using a structured review protocol and contribute recommendations for consideration in the ELA standards review process.We are seeking a range of perspectives, including classroom teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, and higher education partners. District and school teams are encouraged.Parking is available in the Beaufort Street Parking Garage, which is attached to the event venue.Persons who need special accommodations, including language translation services, should contact ISBE's Language Access Coordinator Diana Torres at dtorres@isbe.net or 312-814-5818 at least two weeks in advance of the event.
