Discovery Room Open House, hosted by Friends of York River State Park!

If you have stopped by the park Visitor Center, you may have noticed a lot of new activity! Staff and volunteers have been working hard to enhance the visitor experience for all guests, and we want to invite YOU to an open house to celebrate the newly remodeled Discovery Room!

What can you expect? See beautiful fish in our new fresh and saltwater aquariums. Meet our reptile ambassadors up close. And try out our new microscopes, including an ADA-accessible model purchased by the Friends Group. We will also have kids' crafts, coffee, and hot chocolate. Our Park Rangers will be on hand to help you connect to these amazing natural resources. There is something for everyone!
