Meet the Divas:
Cheryl MacDonald – Cheryl has performed with Opera Australia and Victorian Opera Company for over twenty-five years. Roles performed include Mimi and Musetta in La Boheme, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Norina in Don Pasquale, and Blanche in The Dialogues of the Carmelites. Cheryl has received Victorian Guild Awards for Maria in The Sound of Music, Sarah in Bittersweet, and Hanna in The Merry Widow. She has represented Victoria in The German Operatic Awards and The Metropolitan Opera Awards, and the international singing competition, The Placido Domingo Singing Awards. She was also a semi-finalist in the Sun Aria on numerous occasions and a finalist in The Australian Contemporary Singing Awards.
Lou Van Stone – Lou has studied at the Royal College of Music in London and with world-renowned soprano Jane Edwards. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Southern Cross University and has performed at a wide range of festivals and events across Australia and internationally. Her festival appearances include Woodford Folk Festival, Bali Spirit Festival, Uplift Festival, Earthcore, Byron Spirit Festival, Seven Sisters Festival, Mind Body Spirit Festivals, Jungle Love, Conscious Life and Conscious Living New Earth Festival. Lou is celebrated for her versatility, radiant stage presence, and the ability to captivate audiences with both power and nuance in her performances. She straddles many genres including Opera, Musical Theatre, Ethereal Sound Healing, EDM, Jazz and Adult Contemporary.
