Do you need hope right now? Healing in your life?
Are you walking through loss or illness this season? Searching for peace -for yourself or for someone you love?
We invite you to Blue Christmas: A Service of Remembrance, Healing, and Hope - a gentle service of scripture, stories, special music, silent reflection, and healing prayer for those who are hurting or not feeling merry this time of year.
Please join us onsite or online via Facebook, YouTube, or at nolensvilleumc.org/watch on Thursday, December 18, at 6:30 PM.
Christmas can be a bittersweet season. While the world celebrates, many carry quiet pain - grief from the loss of a loved one, broken relationships, illness, insecurity, loneliness, or unmet expectations. The joyful gatherings we see around us can remind us of what - and who - we are missing.
This tender service is often called The Longest Night because it coincides with the darkest day of the year, December 21. As the nights grow longer, many of us feel the weight of that darkness in our own lives. Blue Christmas creates space to name our sadness, acknowledge our fears, and be reminded that we do not walk through them alone. We need hope - and that hope has been revealed.
On the longest night of the year, we invite you into a quiet, meditative time of worship: a space to remember, to offer our hurting places to God, and to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ.
Come hear scripture, pray for healing and wholeness, and listen to music that gently reminds us:
God is near to those who mourn, who grieve, and who struggle.
Christ’s light shines even in the deepest darkness.
We hope you will join us.
