A NOTE FROM NICA:
About six months ago, my family adopted a wonderful pup, now named Apple, who has brought joy (and at times a little too much pep) to our lives. We want to give back by setting up a charity event at our next throwdown!
EVENT DETAILS:
In lieu of bringing snacks, we are recommending folks bring donations to Redemption Rescue. You are not obligated to bring anything with you. Aside from this uplift, Looking Glass Pottery Studio is not affiliated with Redemption Rescue. Donations submitted to them are not distributed to us in any way.
The throwdown is open to all members of the public, current & former students, current & former members, as well as local area potters. You are welcome to attend, to participate, or both!
Contests start at 6:00pm, please try to arrive by 5:45pm if competing.
Refreshments will be provided; an accurate headcount helps us make sure we have plenty for everyone. Please use the event ticket link to RSVP.
COMPETITION DETAILS:
There are 3 competitions during the event; all competitions will kick off starting at 6pm.
• "Best In Show" - Participants interested in this competition will bring a pre-made dog or cat bowl with them to the event on 10/11. Attendees will then judge the best bowls.
• Live Wheelthrowing Competition - To keep the competitions a bit more balanced, those participating in the live wheelthrowing competition will be broken into leagues based on the amount of clay thrown. There is a range -- participants can choose how much they'd like to use. (1-2 pounds, or 2-5 pounds).
• "Milkbone Madness" - Participants can guess the number of milkbones in a large glass jar. Closest to the number without going over wins!
