Big Summer Read Launch Party- Noarlunga Library

Taking part in the Big Summer Read is easy: Just register, read five books or read for five days to go in the draw for some great prizes. Every extra five books or five days you log earns you another entry into the prize draw. Throughout the summer, Onkaparinga Libraries will also be running a range of fortnightly creative challenges. Take part in these challenges for your chance to win great prizes!

About the “Summer Slide”

The Summer Slide is what happens when children don’t read regularly over the summer holidays and lose some of the reading skills they gained during the school year. On average, this can mean a drop of around two to three months in reading progress. Research shows that reading just six books over the summer can help maintain a child’s reading level from the previous year.

How The Big Summer Read Helps

The Big Summer Read encourages kids and teens to:
• read for fun over the summer
• build and maintain their reading skills
• discover all the great free resources and activities available at their local library

By taking part in The Big Summer Read, your child can stay engaged with reading, earn rewards, and start the next school year ready to go!

Suitable for ages 4+ | Bookings essential | Please book a ticket for each child attending. Adults do not require a ticket.
