afoa Internationalism* invites you to a screening event of two short (6 to 10 minute long) documentaries about the EACOP (East African Crude Oil Pipeline) and the pan-African campaign against extractivism. The screening will be followed by a conversation and a Q&A with a local activist who will join us online from Uganda. 
How the longest ever oil pipeline to be built is impacting the local -especially the women’s- community in Uganda? How is the local community organising and resisting? How do we practice solidarity with the global majority?

* This is the second event of our newly established group ‘afoa Internationalism’. The goal of the group is to expand our relations with collectives and networks abroad that share our values and principles. In an effort to internationalise our struggle by speaking out about the systemic oppression experienced in our region, we also seek to educate ourselves by learning about struggles and contexts outside Cyprus, with the global majority.
