Celebrated for her imaginative artistry and distinctive approach to the guitar repertoire, the French guitarist Edith Pageaud has rapidly emerged as one of the most remarkable young voices of her generation. Winner of several important international competitions including the Drôme de Guitares International Competition, the Roland Dyens “Révélation Guitare Classique” Competition, the Florence International Guitar Competition and the Rust International Guitar Competition, Pageaud has drawn particular attention for her striking personal arrangements of works by classical masters originally written for other instruments. 

Edith Pageaud will appear at The Shoe Factory, Nicosia on Friday 24 April 2026 / 8:30pm, as part of the 20th EGTA Guitar Festival organised in collaboration with the Pharos Arts Foundation, in a fascinating recital that reflects her remarkable gift for reimagining the music of great composers for the guitar – featuring works by Mertz, Glass, Schubert, Biber, Rachmaninov, Scarlatti, Rameau, Kapsberger, Piazzolla and Tansman.

𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗔𝗨𝗗 guitar

Edith Pageaud is a French classical guitarist, professor, and international concert artist. She studied in Paris with Gérard Abiton, where she obtained her Diplôme d’Études Musicales at the age of 14. After studying Humanities and Philosophy at the university, she devoted herself fully to music and won the First Prize at the Drôme de Guitares International Competition (2022), the Roland Dyens “Révélation Guitare Classique” Competition in France (2023), the Florence International Guitar Competition in Italy (2023), and the Rust International Guitar Competition in Austria (2024).

Edith Pageaud is particularly celebrated for her distinctive repertoire and innovative personal arrangements of composers such as Rachmaninoff, Biber, Scarlatti, and Scriabin, as well as for her use of scordatura to explore the lower registers of the instrument. She is supported by the prestigious string brand Knobloch, and she currently performs internationally across Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States.

Η Edith Pageaud θα εμφανισθεί στο The Shoe Factory στη Λευκωσία την Παρασκευή 24 Απριλίου 2026, στις 8:30 μ.μ., στο πλαίσιο του 20ού Φεστιβάλ Κιθάρας EGTA που διοργανώνεται σε συνεργασία με το Ίδρυμα Τεχνών Φάρος, σε ένα συναρπαστικό ρεσιτάλ που αντανακλά το ξεχωριστό της χάρισμα να μεταφέρει τη μουσική των σημαντικότερων συνθετών στο ιδίωμα της κιθάρας – με έργα των Μερτς, Γκλας, Σούμπερτ, Μπίμπερ, Ραχμάνινοφ, Σκαρλάτι, Ραμώ, Καπσμπέργκερ, Πιατσόλα και Τάνσμαν.

Η Edith Pageaud (Εντίτ Παζώ) είναι Γαλλίδα κλασική κιθαρίστρια, καθηγήτρια και διεθνής σολίστ. Σπούδασε στο Παρίσι υπό τον Ζεράρ Αμπιτόν, όπου απέκτησε το Diplôme d’Études Musicales σε ηλικία μόλις 14 ετών. Έπειτα από σπουδές στις Ανθρωπιστικές Επιστήμες και τη Φιλοσοφία στο πανεπιστήμιο, αφοσιώθηκε πλήρως στη μουσική και απέσπασε το Πρώτο Βραβείο στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Drôme de Guitares (2022), στον Διαγωνισμό Ρολάντ Ντιένς «Révélation Guitare Classique» στη Γαλλία (2023), στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Κιθάρας της Φλωρεντίας στην Ιταλία (2023) και στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Κιθάρας του Ρουστ στην Αυστρία (2024).

Η Pageaud είναι φημισμένη πρωτίστως για το ιδιαίτερο ρεπερτόριό της και για τις πρωτότυπες διασκευές της σε έργα συνθετών όπως Ραχμάνινοφ, Μπίμπερ, Σκαρλάτι και Σκριάμπιν, καθώς και για τη χρήση της σκορδατούρας, προκειμένου να εξερευνήσει το χαμηλότερο φάσμα του οργάνου. Η Edith Pageaud υποστηρίζεται από τη σπουδαία εταιρεία χορδών Knobloch, και εμφανίζεται σε όλη την Ευρώπη, το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, την Αυστραλία και τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες.
